DESIGN
Proven expertise in design and development of primary and secondary packaging, merchandising, and shop-in-shop installation, including budget management. Works collaboratively with internal departments including marketing, advertising, sales, training, public relations, and web development—and with external partners including retailers and manufacturers. Plans and executes visual and theme concepts for sales meetings, public relations activities, and press events.
DEVELOPMENT
Dawson, Design & Development, LLC works with brands and designers to design and development programs from concept to market. Implements sustainable, close-loop solutions for packaging, displays and shop-in-shop fixtures, including process, design, materials, engineering, development, budgeting, manufacturing, shipping cartons and end of life process. Working with brands, manufacturers, and retail partners to close the loop on material life.
SUSTAINABILITY
Joel works closely with designers, manufactures, retailers and recycling partners to create sustainable solutions for displays in the beauty industry. With corporate partners, and brand partners we identify “Sustainability Ambassadors.” We create an internal recycling process, converting waste into new materials and into products.
Example: Expanding on “Back to Mac” packaging recycling program we created MAC display parts. Proven, we replicated this program for all other ELC brands.
Since leaving Estée Lauder in fall of 2019 Joel has worked with others to develop and produce sustainable solutions for a number of well known brands.
